Approach
Samira brings a warm, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic style, with a strong focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed space where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. She values building a strong therapeutic relationship and takes the time to understand each client’s unique experiences, goals, cultural background, and personal values. Samira works collaboratively with clients to provide tailored, evidence-based support that aligns with their individual needs and supports meaningful, sustainable change.
Samira has experience working across the lifespan, including with children, adolescents, and adults. She has supported individuals presenting with a range of concerns, including anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, self-harm and suicidality, eating disorders and body image concerns, and emotional regulation.
She draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy–Enhanced (CBT-E), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Schema Therapy. Her integrative approach supports both the development of practical coping strategies and deeper self-understanding.
Experience & background
Samira has experience working in private and public outpatient mental health settings, including within an eating disorder service supporting adults presenting with eating disorders. She is currently working within an inpatient adolescent mental health setting supporting young people presenting with acute mental health concerns. Through this work, she has developed strong experience in risk assessment and supporting individuals experiencing self-harm and suicidal ideation.
Samira is a Registered Psychologist (Clinical Psychology Registrar) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is currently working toward endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
